Nora was mated to MOSCODEES JAKE THE PEGG AT GALIBAR on April 19th 2013. "Romeo" was chosen because he is off excellent type and temprement and most importantly he is fully tested up to date for PRA and FN and he is a CLEAR on both counts. This is a very exciting mating as both dogs complement each other very nicely. When we put their respective pedigrees together we saw what a good match they made. Nora was scanned at 4 weeks and her pregnancy was confirmed, her babies are expected anytime from 17 June 2013
Nora is currently content with her lovely 6 chunky black puppies. The times in which she gave birth are as following:
All the puppies have settled in well to the new environment, they have doubled in size and weight. Nora is being a fantastic nurturing mother and the puppies are beginning to venture around the box following the smell of their Mums milk.Click to add text, images, and other content
This week the puppies have to begun to open their eyes which is enabling them to become more independent little puppies as they are quite strongly moving around the pen. Also they are starting to find their voices as they have been making little noises almost as if they are telling us that they are there! Because they are opening their eyes, their personalities are starting to develop and they give you little soft licks when you handle them.
We are going to begin the worming programe today. The puppies will be correctly wormed 4 times before they leave for their new homes. It is also very important that new owners continue with this. A fact sheet on worming will be included in the owners handbook.
The puppies have all been wormed for the second time, had their nails cut and enjoyed their new found freedom of romping around outside of their puppy pen. we are slowly going to start introducing them to the garden starting off with allowing them short periods of time to adventure outside amongst our dogs and eventually allowing them(as they are more confident) to play in the garden until they tire themselves out running a mock.
They have been to the vets for their check up and the vet has assured that they are all healthy chunky lively puppies. The puppies are spending the majority of their days in the garden playing with their mum and their aunty Nelly even attempting to play amongst our other dogs. Its lovely to see their personalities. They're developing into sturdy fearless puppies who would rather give you a cheeky bark instead of hide from the hoover.
